Sunday Scoop and a little Read Across America

A Few snapshots of last week #ReadAcrossAmerica

We had great readers including the Mayor! And some green eggs and ham :)

Our awesome hall and door decorations!

I'm such a Sunday Scoop type of blogger!
I really appreciate this linky because it seems like Sunday is the only time I can finally sit down long enough to breathe and possibly blog. I always want to do Friday posts or post right after a really good lesson but I get home, grade, do Grad hw or wedding plan, eat, stare at my fiance for a few then doze off lol

So anyways here's my scoop!

3 Things I have to do:

I need to email our florist with some updates to our latest plan. I am really enjoying planning a wedding but it is so many little decisions! Sometimes I just want to flip a coin! All I know is I want to show up in my pretty dress and leave as his Mrs.

All the small details are cool but secondary. That's especially true when your 1st graders are crazy or you have Saturday grad classes within 2 weeks of each other!

I also need to start report cards but umm.. yeah that won't be happening this evening. Maybe tomorrow..

I've really got to finish uploading artifacts into my portfolio online for grad school. Graduation is around the corner and now that I've passed my SLLA (thank God!!) I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's due at the end of the month and I know I will finish it but it's so many little steps!

2 Things I hope to do:

I hope to pick a flower girl dress soon! I've seen some really cute ones on Etsy surprisingly! I can't wait to see my little cousin all dressed up :)

I desperately need to get to yoga this week. I haven't been in about 2 weeks and I'm really starting to feel it. I'm getting stiff!

1 Thing I'm happy to do:

I've been trying to find some hair style ideas for the big day! I know I will be wearing it naturally curly but I don't know how I will pin/pull it up to wear my veil...but Pintrest is helping with that! I think I'll get back to that

So that's whats going on with me. You should link up as well!

Sunday Scoop, Science and a Surprise !

Well if you follow me on any other social media you already know my surprise but....
 I'm Engaged!

My amazing boyfriend is now my fiance!! I'm so excited to be his Mrs. and to plan a wedding but man I am already beginning to see what a task that can be! Any advice appreciated lol

In other news I wanted to do the Sunday Scoop Linky since its been a while.

I promise it seems like I just did laundry and already the basket is filling again. To be honest I don't think we've put all the clean clothes up from a week or two ago...don't judge lol

I'm currently on fall break but it doesn't mean a break from everything. I plan to try and get ahead with that hw so it doesn't sneak up on me. And speaking of school its time to apply for my Spring graduation! :)

So since I'm engaged we’ve been looking at venues in our area. Since I'm off this week I plan to do some calling and researching. Its exciting! And of course I'm trying to sleep in. Even trying to convince the fiance to take a day off with me lol

And I surely don't mind staring at my new accessory all day! I'm still addicted to having such a beauty on my hand each day. And I feel so blessed to have found my person!

And just a little #sciencefun before I sign off
This week we reviewed matter and did a few more hands on experiments thanks to the influence of my latest TDG Science PD day.

We started the week by exploring different materials to determine the properties of solids and liquids.

Later in the week we added solid skittles to liquids like hand sanitizer, mouthwash and water. We predicted what would happen then recorded our results.

Last we explored various solids and changed their shape (broke crayons, popsicle sticks, and Styrofoam cups) to determine if they would remain a solid. Most of them predicted no! Lol good ol first graders

But that's a bit of a catch up for now. Have a great week!

Getting an early start this Sunday!

For some reason I was fully awake at 8 am this morning! After laying around for a while the family moved into the living room to our second favorite lazy spot, the couch! But since I'm up why not blog?

So I got an early start on linking up with the The Teaching Trio for the Sunday Scoop

3

So yesterday I got a quote to replace all 4 tires! (Gahhhh) apparently they're on their way out so I need to get some new ones before hitting the road later this week. But before taking it in I'm gonna scan through Pinterest for this year's Valentines. And I'm going to sort some clothes for the laundry...eventually

2

I need to get my sub plans together but that will probably have to wait until Monday so I can double check for materials. (Trip to Cali coming soon!) And I also need a new lunch box. I think I'm going to end up buying a 31 bag again but I am open to suggestions! It's kinda hard finding a nice sized adult lunch box!

Despite the fact that my mental to do list is growing by the minute, I'm going to enjoy being lazy for just a little longer with this handsome guy and adorable pup. Then coffee, yoga and finally starting my day.

Enjoy your Sunday too!

My 1st Sunday Scoop of the year :)

Happy Sunday guys!

Linking up with the Teachingtrio for the Sunday scoop :)

So here's mine
3.
That laundry has been clean and sitting in the laundry room for at least 3 days, probably longer. It just keeps falling to the bottom of the list. We are usually really good at meal planning but have been slipping lately and it shows every time we have the "What's for dinner?" discussion haha. So I've added my meal planning freebie at the bottom if ya want. I planned out my outfits a few times last semester and it really helped in the morning so I'm gonna try to get back on that!
2.
I try to assess sight words at least 3 times a year and I'm halfway done with my mid-year testing. I really want to finish by Monday (since we have extended days). And I'm trying to get ahead in my grad school classes by getting at least 2 assignments done this weekend.
1.
It's wayyy more fun to plan for the week in my colorful EC planner. I've really gotten into adding stickers and washi tape and stickers everywhere. I'm all about being organized!

Thanks for reading. Now head over to their blog so you can link up too! It's pretty easy!

And if you'd like here's a copy of the meal planning chart we use here at the house. I laminated it and you could add a magnet on the back and stick it to the fridge. Then you can use a dry -erase marker or a sharpie (erases with a magic eraser). Enjoy!

So here we go!

My grad school hw has been driving me nuts. But my last on campus meeting is this week so there is a bright side! I can't believe its already time for picture day! And I definitely can't believe I'm getting my first student teacher this year1 I can still vividly remember when I was a student teacher

I've really been wanting to make some new products lately but I've been so busy. Luckily my awesome teacher friends have been making great products, a lot of them as freebies, so I've been racking up.  Now if only I could rack up on some shopping! I've been to busy working and being responsible (also known as paying bills lol). Maybe after this busy week ahead..?

Nothing better than Sunday football games on tv and some delicious pizza! We usually have pizza Fridays around here but ended up switching our schedule around and it's made for a perfect lazy Sunday afternoon.

Back to homework!...   :/
