Where did June go?! & 5 for Friday

Hey Yall!

I had a goal of blogging at least once a month and June just totally slid by without a thought! it amazes me how much time flies as you grow older.

But I will say it was much needed. I took the time to completely relax and recharge! This past year wore me out. I needed a total break. Someone asked me when school started back, two weeks into June by the way, and I answered that I had no idea. Which was true (and very freeing!). But now I've got a burst of energy so let's join in my favorite linky....

(Sidenote: How cute is it that my fiance knows this linky? He asked if I was joining in today (:  )

I have 8 days until I get married!!!!!

And oh my gosh I can't wait. 

All this planning, anticipating, and it's almost here.

Since I've been planning a wedding I also made some signs to use throughout the reception.

I printed them on Dollar Tree photo paper and put them in Dollar Tree frames.

Since I'm finally coming around to the idea of another school year (lol) I created an editable Meet the Teacher letter and posted it in my store today.

I realized my past letters were too lengthy and no one was probably reading them! So I wanted one that was short and sweet. 

Information about our class rules, procedures, etc, go in the letter I prepare for their "Take Home Folders". I may post more about those later.

My bridal shower was a few weeks ago and it was perfect. I am obsessed with pizza so my mom and bridal party planned a pizza shower! And my favorite pizza place made me a heart shaped pizza! It was awesome!

 I've been spending my free time doing some crafting as well which I really have missed! Most of it has been wedding related including this cute flower letter I made! Thanks Pintrest! It's going to be used somewhere in the decor :)

I managed to whip up another product I have had on my list since May! I love having discussions with my little readers about their learning but I noticed that in partner reading the level of conversation was much lower. I wanted to make some flashcards for them to use while reading with partners so they can use the same stems we often use together.

Five for Friday!

Well I have been missing for a while but I have been a busy lady! Ohmygoodness. I have missed my blog but I have been barely making it. Coffee is definitely my bff right now :)

But here's my ...

I haven't blogged in a while so this will be a highlight reel of the last few weeks

I graduate this weekend!!! Ahhhhhhh

It has been a long road, and I changed my major 3 times lol but this was definitely what I meant to do. I will be finishing with my masters and principal licensure. 

My class wrote letters to kid president and the real president and they both wrote us back! My students and my principal were hype!

I've had an amazing Teacher Appreciation week so far. Our school has given us cute candy with sayings on them daily. We got 10 minute massages on Tuesday while the assistant principal covered our classrooms. But before all of that I got this super awesome gift card for Oriental Trading for no reason at all! 

Umm yes please!

Totally not school related but I get married in 71 days and my mother is arriving with my dress and veil this evening!!! I can't wait to see that beauty again :) :) :)

We are in the last month of school!! Man that alone is reason for celebration!! This year has been a learning one and very interesting juggling teaching, grad school and wedding planning. I can't wait to get to summer break and get married, go on this honeymoon and kick my feet up!

I'm so excited this had to be first...my amazing shirt came in from A+ Images! Its adorable and even better, it was free. They are doing a special promotion for teacher bloggers! I have another shirt from them as well that says Team 1st grade. They have great customer service and get things to you pretty quickly!

I finally made it back into my classroom. I waited until we had about a month before the 1st day. Kids report August 13th! So I went in my class Wednesday and got most of my major furniture moved. I haven't decided on a desk arrangement yet. Doing all that before grad class was a little tiring!

Hello new curriculum!  We have been using EnVision math in the past. This year we are switching to a new program and it looks pretty cool. I attended some PD yesterday and learned a little about it. ( Of course I chose the earliest session, I was anxious to see it!) It is more aligned to CCSS/ TN Core which is a nice change.

Mail's here! And my cute planner stickers came in! Can't wait to use these in my EC teacher planner and lil planner too! Grabbed them from Mare Bear Crafts on etsy. And she even threw in some freebies for me. How sweet!

Mr. Handsome bought me flowers when I returned from Vegas and they are so pretty! I love having fresh flowers in the house. Its the little things :)

Five for Friday!

 

Well hello! I've been MIA wrapping up the school year and regaining my sanity :). You know you're tired when the school year ended a week ago and you're just now getting around to blogging about it. So here's my last month in a nutshell plus I wanted to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for the 5 for Friday linky!

 

 

So number one is technically from April but I wanted to share! We had to cancel a field trip towards the end of the year which was a total bummer. Instead of sulking around I sent a few emails and was able to coordinate a visit from our local fire fighters since we were learning about community helpers! And they gave us hats!

 

 

 

My class also said goodbye to our amazing student teacher Ms. North. We had the pleasure of having her in our classroom since October! She was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to see her in her own classroom!

For Mother's Day my class made these little flowers and wrote a reason they love their mom on each stem. The flowers are from Dollar Tree leis cut apart. You get a ton even if you only buy one pack (which has 2 leis) and they glue very well. I've used them 3 years in a row!

 

 

(This was my example, theirs were much cuter lol)

 

 

 

The school year zoomed by and before I knew it I was packing up! A tip as you prepare for the end of the year, take pictures! This year I got smart and took a panoramic pic too! They really come in handy when you can't remember where you stuffed all your junk last year.

Five for Friday!!

With today being my 4th "snow" day in a row, how could I not go ahead and blog? And why not link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for the "Five for Friday" Linky? First time for everything :)

Well at the beginning of this lovely week I was in California living it up! I flew out to see my bestie who moved there and her new baby (aka my new Godson :)! ) And since my silly run-crazed mommy came with me we ended up running a race on Valentine's Day.

Although my trip to California was perfecttttt, the process of coming home was far from it. We ended up stuck in LA for a night because of all the snow back in TN. That was a major bummer for many reasons including my upcoming birthday and the fact that I didn't want to keep missing work! But we made the best of it! And eventually made it back home.

 

 On Tuesday I turned 25!!! Woohooo!!! I didn't expect to spend the day stuck in an airport but I was with my amazing mommy. And my school loves me so much they gave me (and everyone else lol) the week off! How sweet right? Yeah...really it was these good ol snow days (with hardly any snow but I'm not complaining!) So I had plenty of chances to enjoy my lazy day and I sure did!

 

I finished my latest book Gone Girl and now I'm beginning The Girl on the Train. Anyone read it yet? I saw a friend post about it and after reading a few pages I went ahead and bought it. Pretty good so far, but after the craziness of GG I wonder if it will pale in comparison?..

 

 

 Since I haven't been to work all week I don't have much else to share about it so I'll sneak in some pics from last week when we went on a field trip to the Creative Discovery Museum :) and my super cute Valentine's which were a freebie from an awesome teacher!
